Given that you are the CEO of your business and the business partners in your organization are the CEOs of their businesses, do you tell them the truth? If a new business partner has an in-home scheduled, you drive two hours to be there and then no one shows up, what do you tell your business leader? If you say “Oh, that’s OK, it happens to everyone” then you are doing him/her a significant dis-service. You must tell your network marketing business leaders the truth.

One of the best things about the network marketing industry is the social network of like-minded people. Melded into this social network are the advantages and family like qualities of support, encouragement, acceptance and recognition. I’ve said before that network marketing is like a great big “Cheers” bar…it’s a place where everybody knows your name. It’s what we are all looking for.

If you chose your business for health reasons and taking the products have improved your health, you are a success! Congratulations! The next step for you is to decide if you intend to tell others about your health improvements, your success. Some people are happy just feeling better: they have no drive to tell others or to build a business helping others feel better, too. Know this one true fact: Just because the product that made a positive change in your life is a network marketing product does not mean you have to build a business. It’s absolutely OK to take the products, feel better and live a happy, healthy life…without telling another soul about that product or that business! You achieved your goal of good health: THAT is SUCCESS!

If your strength is love of learning, you very likely have a Team of people who read the books, listen to the tapes, ask a lot of questions. If your fear is drawing attention to yourself, if you do your best to slip into the shadows rather than be noticed, your Team is most likely withdrawn as well.

In network marketing, as in any sales, we are dealing with people and asking them to make buying decisions. When we are unsure of ourselves, if we are having a “bad day” (or “bad week”), our prospects know it. Remember, every person on the face of the Earth is created as transmitters and receivers. I once heard Dr. John Maxwell say that a new church to which he was transferred was full of musicians, because the former Minister was a musician. After just a couple of years the same church was full of leaders, because John Maxwell is a leader. It’s the Law of Attraction. We attract who we are, not who we want. (OH MY! That was another fact I learned from Dr. Maxwell…and it was not an easy fact to accept.)

How successful are you ever going to be if your thought pattern is “I’ve worked this network marketing business for five years and I’ve never earned more than $1,000 a year…it hasn’t worked so far…”

In building your network marketing business, are you just going through the motions or are you letting your Heart show in your words and actions. Telling your prospects that you believe in your business or your products is one thing. Being genuinely enthusiastic about what you’re saying is quite another.
